Sofa cushions are the perfect accessory for your living room. They not only make your couch a real eye-catcher – small cushions are the ideal companion for a cozy evening in front of the TV. Whether you prefer long, round, or square cushions – or even a colorful mix of small cushions – is entirely up to your taste.
What pillow sizes are available?
The standard pillow in Germany measures 80x80 cm—and is obviously not intended for the couch. Sofa cushions are considerably smaller.
What size are sofa cushions?
Sofa cushions come in countless sizes and shapes. There are oblong decorative cushions measuring 30x50 cm, as well as square sofa cushions measuring 45x45cm and 50x50cm. Those who prefer truly small sofa cushions can also opt for 40x40cm. Round sofa cushions are less common, but they also come in various sizes.
What are the dimensions of small sofa cushions?
Square sofa cushions in sizes 45x45cm and smaller are considered small sofa cushions. We offer small cushions in sizes 40x40cm and 45x45cm. Oblong cushions from 30x50cm are considered small cushions. Anything larger than that definitely counts as (normal)-sized sofa cushions.

Small cushions for the sofa: fabrics, formats, colours and shapes
With different sizes, shapes, and fabrics, the arrangement appears lively, stylish, and chic. Feel free to try a mix of large and small pillows, different fabrics—which can be a bit cozier in winter—and different shapes.
When choosing colors, a bit of sensitivity is required. The bolder the colors in the living room, the more subdued the colors of the couch cushions should be, and vice versa. For example, a simple, white and gray living room can be enhanced with a colorful pile of small sofa cushions.

How many pillows on the couch?
The question of how many cushions should be on a sofa is difficult to answer. It depends on the size of the sofa, your decorating preferences, and the size of the sofa cushions. With smaller cushions, you can naturally drape a few more cushions on the sofa than with larger ones.
The following rules of thumb can help you determine the right number:
- Always choose an odd number of pillows.
- Take two more cushions than there are seats.
However, this can be too much for large pillows – and too little for small pillows. - Combine different pillows so that several pillows don't look squashed.
- Leave some space for your decorative cushions.
Firstly, a large pile of decorative cushions doesn't really look good and secondly, you want to be able to sit somewhere without constantly having to move decorative cushions to the side.
