Washing towels – How is it done correctly?
Washing clothes is a daily chore; some enjoy it, others less so. Many of you have probably wondered how to properly wash certain items, such as towels. There are a number of things to consider when washing, such as temperature, color, quality, etc. To avoid your towels ending up a different shape or color after the wash, here are a few tips.
First of all, the right temperature. For towels, you can set a temperature of 40° to 90°, but 60° is usually the standard temperature setting. You can use a heavy-duty detergent for this, or a mild detergent or color detergent for colored towels. Towels should generally be washed at 60°, as this is the temperature at which their structure and quality are retained for the longest. To be sure that your towels can be washed at this hot temperature, read the temperature information on the respective labels beforehand to ensure everything goes smoothly. If your towels are extremely dirty, you can also run the pre-wash cycle; there is usually a special button for this.
To ensure your towels retain their color, you need to separate your towels and other fabrics by color before washing. This means you need to separate white towels from colored ones, and these in turn from very dark colors. You should also consider the different fabrics, as not all can be washed at the same temperature (see label).
Now for loading your washing machine. You can load your washing machine to capacity, but don't overfill it. This means the drum should be loosely filled and not overstuffed, otherwise your towels won't get properly clean. Once your towels are finished washing, you can, of course, put them in the dryer or let them air dry, depending on your preference. We at PremiumShop321 wish you happy washing and hope everything goes smoothly!
- Final tip: Always wash your towels once or twice before first use!
